Micah 6:8
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
The words from the prophet Micah may sound as a simple task to accomplish especially during this Lenten Season but in reality it is not such a simple task. Saint James one of the Apostles of our Lord Jesus pointed out that words and wishful thinking were not enough to fulfill what the Lord requires from us. He gives us a perfect example of what is required from God: “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?”
(James 2:16)
I am aware that there are many needs in our country as well as in the world. I see this in the lives of every little girl that arrives to Our Little Roses where not only are they able to find peace, warmth, and are well fed but also they are able to get love, medical care, and a good education to prepare them for the future. All of this is possible by people like you that through your prayers and financial help have acted justly, loved mercifully, and have walked humbly with our God.
