Annual Report

“Our graduates are living proof of the fulfillment of our vision – they are wonderful mothers, wives, teachers, doctors, social workers, and so much more.”

Dear Friends,

Thirty-five years ago, it was just a dream, and now we know that our dream have been fulfilled after many prayers and much hard work. We have been able to transform the lives of hundreds of girls, providing them with an excellent education, a moral and spiritual upbringing, a healthy die, and care for any medical needs.

Our Little Roses Ministry can accomplish all this because of your financial support and prayers. You can be assured that your donations have always been used properly and judiciously. We know that our success depends on our accountability and that we make sure that our girls always come first.

We invite you to continue supporting this ministry of love so that new girls can be achieve the success of previous girls. If you have never been able to be part of this transformational ministry, please take a close look at this annual report and consider making your tax-deductible donation to Our Little Roses Foreign Mission Society.

Mother Teresa used to say that prayers do not necessarily change things. Instead, prayers transform us so that we can make a change in this world.

My prayer is that, together, we will be able to continue transforming the lives of so many girls that God places at our door.

Blessings,

Chair, Our Little Roses Foreign Mission Society

Dear Friends,

2022 is in the books! What a year it has been here at Our Little Roses! As I look back, there’s no doubt what the highlight of 2022 was for me. Hands down, it was the joy of visiting our campus in Honduras and hearing the stories from mission teams who are back to making their annual visits.

In March, our board of directors held its first meeting in Honduras since February 2020. It was wonderful to spend time with each other, with Diana and her staff and THE ROSES! The changes were amazing. The girls had grown so much, both physically and emotionally. We met our newest girls and reconnected with some of our graduates.

We visited Dr. Tony at the clinic and learned of the many medical issues the people in the area have dealt with over the past few years. Diana gathered the Tias, who looked after the girls so we could hear firsthand about their work. We also toured the Transition Apartments, which your support has allowed us to renovate. It is a lovely space for our graduates as they transition into independent living.

This, the fifth edition of our annual report, will be focused on our graduates. In these pages, you’ll read the success stories of just a few young women who grew up at Our Little Roses. Before you do, I’d like to remind you of the part YOU plan in each story. Whether as a mission team member, a sponsor, or a donor who has never stepped foot on our campus, these pages would be empty if not for your trust, love, and support.

I know the resilience and tenacity of our graduates will touch you. Thank you for taking the time to read their stories. Thank you for your continued support of the girls in our care whose stories are not yet written.

With warm regards,

Executive Director, Our Little Roses Foreign Mission Society

In the early 1980s, when Nuestras Pequeñas Rosas was still forming in my heart, I was influenced by many women: the voices of women like Rosa Cisneros, who was killed at just 45 years old for her work to empower women in El Salvador; Sister Maria Rosa, who was instrumental in bringing theS.O.S. Children's Village to Honduras; and Mother Teresa, Mother Mary, and so many more. They helped inspire me to take the leap of faith needed to start this ministry. I knew it wouldn't be easy, so I leaned on their example of courage and strength. I knew in my heart that the girls I saw abandoned and abused, living on the streets of Honduras, deserved more. I knew that each of them, as a child of God, had the potential to grow to be a strong, educated, independent woman if given the chance.

Today, Our Little Roses Ministries provides a safe, loving, nurturing home and qualified staff. It offers education geared to meet each individual needand circumstance, including an English as a Second Language (ESL) program and a special education school. There are extracurricular programs, from dance to sports and even wood carving. The higher education and technical degree program is a huge success, with two graduating this year from university. I am proud of every "rose" in our family. Our graduates are living proof of the fulfillment of our vision - they are wonderful mothers, wives, teachers, doctors, social workers, and so much more. No matter the profession, each girl is instilled with a strong sense of family that has come from growing up in an atmosphere of love and respect.

Faithfully in God’s Service,

"Living at OLRM changed my life, transforming me into a person equipped with all the tools to succeed and help others. If I hadn’t had the opportunity to grow up in this wonderful home, I would not be an independent woman with strength, faith, and goals. The challenges in life make us see the limits of our capacities and the power of God that is perfected in our weaknesses."
